What you’ll teach each week
Each week has a presentation, teacher notes and a student reference sheet. The lessons cover the following skills.
Week 1
The Perfect Paragraph
Introduce the four assessment objectives and use them to write and improve a paragraph.
Week 2
AO1 · The Magic Step
Help students move beyond naming a concept to explaining how it works.
Week 3
AO2 · The Tesco Test
Use case-study details to explain a point about a particular business.
Week 4
AO3 · Building Stronger Analysis
Link causes and consequences, explain why each link follows, then improve the first answer.
Week 5
AO4 · Better Conclusions
Weigh the evidence and justify a judgement that fits the business.
Week 6
Planning and Balance
Plan an answer that considers both sides before reaching a judgement.
Use the optional AO Skills Diagnostic before and after the series. The optional Northline Bottles final task asks students to apply the skills independently.
